The European Bamboo Foundation respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Who we are

The European Bamboo Foundation operates as a registered trade name of Stichting Dutch Bamboo, a foundation registered in the Netherlands.

The data controller for this site is Stichting Dutch Bamboo.

What we collect

We collect the data you choose to share with us:

  • Survey responses — your answers, and optionally your name and email if you provide them.
  • Involvement form submissions — name, email, organisation, and the role-specific information requested (board interest, founding steward / supporter information, volunteer skills, contact preferences).
  • Direct correspondence — emails you send to us at secretariat@europeanbamboo.org

We do not use tracking cookies or analytics that identify individual visitors.

Why we collect it

  • To analyse the survey results and shape the Foundation’s direction during its founding phase.
  • To respond to your involvement requests.
  • To send occasional updates about the Foundation’s formation, if you have indicated interest.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

  • Survey responses — for as long as the founding-phase analysis is relevant, then anonymised.
  • Involvement form data — for as long as you remain interested in being involved, or until you ask us to delete it.
  • Email correspondence — retained according to standard practice; you may ask us to delete specific correspondence at any time.

Who has access

Form submissions and emails are accessible only to the Foundation’s secretariat. They are not shared with any third party except the technical service providers we use to host the site and handle form submissions, who process data on our behalf under their own data protection commitments.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct it if it is wrong
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Object to our processing of it
  • Receive a copy in a portable format
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)
